Texas Lottery extends deal with Scientific Games through 2034

Scientific Games and the Texas Lottery have agreed to extend their current partnership through 2034.

Company is a giant in lottery industry

Scientific Games, which produces scratch ticket games, has been working with the Texas Lottery since its inception in 1992. The company is the world leader in scratcher games. It also provides its clients with licensed brands and custom promotions.

No company is a larger instant games creator, producer and services provider than Scientific Games. It has generated more than 70% of global revenue from instant game retail sales.

The Texas Lottery will be the recipient of Scientific Games’ vast experience and expertise for the next decade.

Gary Grief, executive director of the Texas Lottery, recognized Scientific Games’ role in the state’s incredible scratch ticket sales.

“Scientific Games’ products and promotions played an important role in the Texas Lottery achieving more than $6.73 billion in scratch ticket sales for the fiscal year 2022. We look forward to partnering on more memorable player experiences together while bringing SCiQ to our retailers to advance technology supporting our scratch ticket game sales.”

SCiQ system could increase ticket sales even more

Scientific Games is ready to unveil its SCiQ system. It has been defined as a “‘groundbreaking lottery retail technology ecosystem” by Lottery Daily. The system is expected to enhance in-store displays, add firmer security to scratch ticket games and create better efficiency on the back end for retailers in areas such as inventory, accounting, marketing and operations.

The system should go live in the spring of 2023. The goal of SCiQ is to provide “unprecedented access” to live data as well as analytics to increase retailers’ chances of making additional sales.

Texas Lottery broke several records in last year

For the Texas Lottery, this is more good news in a long list of good news over the past year. It set numerous records in fiscal year 2022, including exceeding the total sales record for a 12th straight year.

In the last year, the Texas Lottery generated $8.297 billion. A whopping 81.1% of it came specifically from scratch ticket games supplied by Scientific Games. That equates to $6.727 billion in 2022, another record.

John Schulz, president of Americas & Global Instant Products for Scientific Games, told Lottery Daily that the company is excited about its continued partnership with the Texas Lottery.

“Scientific Games applauds the Texas Lottery for its ongoing vision in the retail and player entertainment experience, and in advancing the lottery retail environment. We will continue our long-standing support for the Texas Lottery’s mission to generate good cause funding with exciting brands and innovative games and promotions that Texas players love.”

Scientific Games expands reach

The deal with the Texas Lottery is one of multiple recent partnerships by Scientific Games. This year, agreements have also been reached with the Colorado Lottery and  Loto-Quebec in Canada.

Additionally, Scientific Games will launch SCiQ with Latvijas Loto in Latvia as it continues to expand its global operations.
