Texas Poker Tournament Schedule For October 2023

The summer may be fading, but Texas has some hot action this October. Big poker events in the Houston, Austin and Dallas areas will prove The Lone Star State is the place to be in October.

More than $2 million is guaranteed in tournaments across the state. It’s time to get in on the action.

While poker rooms are technically illegal in Texas, poker clubs are not, at least as they currently exist. Texas online poker is illegal, though Texans can play in sweepstakes casinos that offer poker games.

Epic match kicks off Heads Up Open at The Lodge

The Heads-Up Open will take place at The Lodge from Oct. 13-15. The Lodge is located in Round Rock, north of Austin. There’s a $1,100 buy-in and multiple starting flights on the first two days. Anyone who makes it through their first day will battle it out on the final day, Oct. 15.

To kick off the event, a special heads-up battle will take place on Oct. 12 between two titans. Doug Polk will take on Rampage live at The Lodge.

Mystery Bounty features a $20K guarantee

Also in October, a $20,000 guaranteed Mystery Bounty event will run on Oct. 7. The $259 buy-in gives players $30,000 in chips. The bounties will range from $200 to $2,000.

Daily events at The Lodge

The Lodge will hold daily events all throughout October as well. Some notable events include:

  • $250 NLH Deep Stack: 12:15 p.m. Sundays; $15,000 guaranteed
  • $100 NLH Bounty: 12:15 p.m. Mondays; $2,000 prize
  • $30 NLH Freeroll: 7:15 p.m. Tuesdays; $15,000 guaranteed
  • $30 PLO Freeroll: 7:15 p.m. Wednesdays; $5,000 guaranteed
  • $30 NLH: 7:15 p.m. Thursdays; $7,500 guaranteed
  • $120 NLH Freezeout: 7:15 p.m. Fridays; $4,000 guaranteed
  • $150 NLH Bounty Hunter: 7:15 p.m. Saturdays; $4,000 guaranteed

Fall Mayhem Main Event was a success in September

In September, The Lodge held its Fall Mayhem Main Event. The $1,200 buy-in tourney was stacked with top players. The final table winners were:

  3. Morgan Petro: $95,000
  4. Dylan Farley: $71,000
  5. Mark Jefferson: $53,000
  6. Dylan Duran: $40,000

Half a million dollars up for grabs at the Texas Card House

This fall, make your way to Spring. Spring, TX, that is. The Fall Classic takes place Oct. 4-22 at the Texas Card House, one of its biggest events of the year for the club north of Houston.

The highly anticipated Main Event of the series comes with a $500,000 guaranteed prize pool. The $800 buy-in will run from Oct. 17-22. Eight multiple flights will take place. All survivors will fight it out on the final day, Oct. 22.

Several more big-time events highlight October poker schedule

Besides the Main Event, there are some other stand-out events in October at the Texas Card House.

  • $250 NLH Mystery Bounty: Oct. 5-9; $250,000 guaranteed
  • $400 PLO Progressive Knockout: Oct.7-13; $75,000 guaranteed
  • $400 PLO Progressive Knockout: Oct.7-13; $75,000 guaranteed
  • $600 NLH Progressive Knockout: Oct.14-15; $150,000 guaranteed

Houston Prime Social Boasts $33,000 Tournament Bad Beat Jackpot

Houston Prime Social hosts one of the biggest poker tournaments with Bad Beats in Texas. Currently, the winner will take home over $33,000. Players are eligible for this prize by playing in one of their weekly tournaments.

Here is a glance at some weekly events in October:

  • $140 NLH Tournament: 5 p.m. Mondays; $5,000 guaranteed
  • $140 NLH Tournament: Noon Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays; $5,000 guaranteed
  • $280 NLH Tournament: 3 p.m. Saturdays; $10,000 guaranteed

Shuffle 512 holds weekly freerolls

This October, Shuffle 512 Poker Room in Austin hosts freerolls each week for players to get a chance to win some serious cash.

Every week poker players can jump into the following games:

  • $30 NLH Tournament: 7 p.m. Sundays, Mondays and Wednesdays; $2,000 guaranteed
  • $30 NLH DBL Tournament: 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays; $2,000 guaranteed
  • $30 NLH Freeroll Tournament: 7 p.m. Fridays; $3,000 guaranteed

$40K guaranteed weekly at Shuffle 214

Shuffle 214 in Dallas will house some fun weekly poker tournaments in October. Players can get a mix of bounties, No-limit Hold’em and even some Pot Limit Omaha.
